Numerical study of drag reduction of a car model by active control using mico-jets
Résumé
The goal of the present work is to evaluate some possibilities of drag reduction of motor vehicles through the integration of a network of micro-jets. To this end, numerical simulations of SVV-LES (Spectral Vanishing Viscosity - Large-Eddy Simulation) type are carried out for the turbulent flow generated by a square back Ahmed body. The results obtained for two different configurations of the drag reduction system show the influence of the presence of the micro-jets on the flow and their ability to significantly reduce the drag forces (up to 10% in case of synthetic micro-jets).
